PETE SANDOVAL
Pete Sandoval has extensive experience working with clients dealing with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, stress management, depression, life transitions, Men’s/Women’s issues, chronic illness/pain, aging, and grief/loss. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) clinician, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
Pete has been involved in his own personal growth for more than 32 years and has actively participated in men’s and mixed-gender groups for the last 25 years, serving as both a participant and facilitator. He firmly believes in embodying the principles and practices he imparts to his clients.
Pete is currently a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Therapists of Ontario (CRPO). Pete is originally from the US where he gained 11 years of clinical psychotherapy experience in both a non-profit agency and private practice. Now, having moved to Ontario, Pete brings that experience to the Kitchener-Waterloo area as he works under the supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO in order to complete his approval as an independent Registered Psychotherapist.
Pete holds a license in the US as a Licensed Professional Counselor (Missouri), having earned his Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. He is also recognized as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors (US) and holds the designation of a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP)
